Everyone inside -- and outside -- the Beltway has been buzzing about what kind of bash Oprah Winfrey's going to throw to celebrate the Inauguration of the century. Sorry to disappoint you, folks, but it ain't happening.
We're told in no uncertain terms by Oprah's peeps -- she's not throwing a party during Obamafest. There had been loud whispers she would be hosting a shindig at her ex-personal chef Art Smith's new joint, Art and Soul, in the District.
The whispers only got louder when people who tried to get a reservation for Jan. 18-21 were turned away because, they said, the eatery was "bought out" during those dates.
Seems O will be concentrating on her show, which will be live from DC that week -- and keeping an eye on her own waistline.

Oprah Winfrey called Herman Rosenblat's tale of how he met his wife in a concentration camp "the single greatest love story" she'd ever heard. Only problem -- it isn't true.
Rosenblat, who survived the Holocaust as a young boy, had written a memoir telling the story of meeting his wife of 50 years when she was a farm girl who tossed apples over the fence at a concentration camp. Then, claimed Herman, he met Mrs. R. 12 years later on a blind date. Well, lovely though it was, the story was made up, and now the memoir is being yanked -- and Oprah is once again red-faced over a story she championed very publicly.
Oprah gushed over James Frey's alleged memoir "A Million LIttle Pieces," only to find it was faked.

There's a rumor going around Oprah's about to drop $50 mil on a mansion in DC, so she can be closer to the Obama White House.
But Oprah's peeps tell TMZ -- no truth to this at all. In fact, some DC real estate sources say there's exactly one house in the District even approaching that price -- an estate called Evermay -- and Oprah hasn't looked at it.
That said, Oprah's likely to hang inside the Beltway -- but we're guessing it'll be in the Lincoln Bedroom.

Now The Big O has really made it.
PETA has bestowed upon Oprah Winfrey its "Person of the Year" award. She will receive a plaque and a letter of appreciation -- kinda like when your kid gives you a "World's Greatest Mom" t-shirt.
Using human hair instead of animal hair in weaves and wigs is very PETA-friendly.

Maybe Oprah Winfrey can't get a room for the Inauguration.
In any case, O is looking for a house in DC, and according to the New York Post, she's got a nine-bedroom Georgetown crib in her sights, even though she's actually never seen it. She's already planning to do her show in DC during Inauguration Week.
And now she might be there a whole lot more.

It's possibly a lil' TMI, but Oprah Winfrey says she's back to 200 lbs. and she's "mad" at herself for letting it all go to ... her waistline.
"I'm embarrassed," says O, in the new issue of her mag. "I can't believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I'm still talking about my weight ... 'How did I let this happen again?'" Apparently since slimming down to 160 in '06, she's put on 40 big ones.
And even a child can figure out what that adds up to.

Oprah has just announced she will not take a position in Obama's administration even if he asks -- not that he's asking or anything -- but if he did, then she'd say no -- most likely.
Oprah gushed, "I have a few full-time jobs already and a few full-time commitments so, it never ever occurred to me" according to AP Television.
Meanwhile Oprah has been stressing herself silly trying to find the perfect dress for the prom, um ... er ... inaugural ball.

In a November 24 post entitled "Oprah -- What's Penn Got to Do with It?" TMZ incorrectly stated that Nomvuto Mzamane, the head mistress at Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls, was charged with abusing children at the school.

Ms. Mzamane was never charged with or even suspected of a crime and we apologize for the mistake.

Even the Queen has to scale it back these days.
Yesterday on her "Favorite Things" show, when Oprah Winfrey usually lays out baller-style for her audience with everything from diamonds to fridges, O gave her fans the cheapest love of all –- advice. "This is not the time to be introducing you to a lot of things that cost money," she said.
Instead, Opie handed out tips on how to do the holidays for less. Like she no doubt will.

Bet you wish you were Oprah Winfrey's dogs right now, cause they could be headed to the Four Seasons Hotel.

Her dogs are holed up at her Montecito estate, and even though her home is not threatened immediately, she's taking precautions.
"I don't have kids," she told her audience during a show taping this AM. "So the most important thing for me is my dogs." Lucky for the Queen's pooches, she already had a plan in place -- her dogs go to a nearby Four Seasons hotel.

Assuming fires don't ravage them, Oprah Winfrey and Rob Lowe have some pretty nice houses in Montecito to return home to.

Oprah purchased her 14,000 square foot house back in 2001 for a reported $55 million. It features six bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. Lowe's $25 million estate sits on a 242,193 square foot lot.
Thus far, the fires haven't reached either home. Fire knows better than to mess with O.

Oprah Winfrey's Montecito estate is not in immediate danger, at least so far.
Her 45-acre estate (which is about three miles from the center of the fire) has not been evacuated, but as one person on scene said, "No one in the area is safe." We're told Winfrey is not in Montecito -- she's in Chicago, taping her show. Her peeps at Harpo say, "At this point, Oprah Winfrey's property has not been affected by the fire."
Also, Rob Lowe's estate is safe, so far. There are scores of celebs who live in that area and the fate of their homes is unknown. As one person on scene put it, "When daylight hits, this story is going to get a lot worse."

Jennifer Aniston appeared on Oprah today, and she actually talked. And smiled!

The two not only discussed Jen dating John Mayer, but they also talked about her feelings toward Brad Pitt and Angelina Joile. Oprah definitely has the power to get people to talk about anything.

Everything Oprah Winfrey puts her hands on turns to gold.

This guy, Sam Perry, is now famous because Oprah leaned on him during election night in Chicago. He got to experience two of the perks yesterday -- appearing on her show and getting the papper treatment afterwards.
Be careful though Sam -- the spell does eventually wear off (see: Phil, Dr.).
